V úvodním podniku sezony musel otřeseného Španěla vystřídat Kevin Magnussen. Jenže Dán hned v pátek tvrdě narazil do svodidel a do samotné Grand Prix nakonec vůbec neodstartoval. Vůz mu selhal na startu.
